Brexit, we tell you what you need to know
Trade and investment relations between Spain and the United Kingdom have always stood out for their intensity and fluidity. Following the UK’s exit from the EU, these economic and trade relations are sustained through the EU-UK Free Trade Agreement, agreed on December 24, 2020 and provisionally in force as of January 1, 2021.
The UK is the fifth largest destination for Spanish exports of goods and is Spain’s eighth largest supplier. Following the pandemic and Brexit, Spanish companies have increased their exports to the UK by 15% in the first nine months of 2022.
Regarding investments, the United Kingdom continues to be the second largest investor in Spain, as well as the second largest destination market for Spanish investments abroad.

1. Request your EORI code (identification number valid in the EU). Absolutely necessary to perform export and import operations. Link here
2. Agree an Incoterm with the UK buyer/importer, File attached.
3. Agree on the type of sale, firm or consignment.
4. Register in the Exporter Registration System (REX) to certify the preferential origin (Spain/Portugal) of your goods. Attached file
5. Authorize PARTIDA CUSTOMS to clear on your behalf, File attached
Once these procedures are completed, you will not have to repeat them.
Now, issue your invoice and packing list to start the operation. Attached is a sample template.
